SANEWA Senior Support Project
A Salute to Spokane Veterans Home, its Veterans and Staff!

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Spokane Veterans Home was one of our area's hardest hit senior communities, 
In our mission to reach out and support our senior community, SANEWA is going to help 'lift up and honor' the Veterans and caregivers who have endured such a difficult time with a day of recognition on Friday, May 22nd leading into Memorial Day Weekend!
This Senior Support Project will include care packages for residents and caregivers alike, along with personal letters and messages of encouragement and support from the community.
In addition, a food truck and coffee wagon will provide complimentary meals and beverages to staff throughout the day.  We want them to know we are thinking about and support them!

​A MESSAGE FROM LESLIE LUEDTKE, EVENT COORDINATOR
Hello All!
First, I would like to say a big THANKS to all of you!  Without the group effort that we had, the Veterans Home event would not have been able to come together so quickly!  It was really amazing!  For those of you who were not able to join us, I think I speak for all of us that were lucky enough to be onsite Friday, the heartfelt gratitude pouring out from the team at the Veterans Home was palpable!  To add to Leslie W's email, this IS why we do this!
The outreach from not only our fellow senior community members but the community of Spokane as a whole was exemplary.  The generosity that kept coming through the doors of Love In Home, the Facebook website and the SANEWA website, the donations of toiletries, swag, puzzles, clothing, hats, arts and crafts, snacks....the list goes on and on.  Those care packages were FULL to the brim with goodness and the recipients were so happy!  
It was a good day to have a great day despite our SANEWA weather curse!

Cash/Check Donations: $2050
TOTAL:  $6080 (WOW!) 

EVENT COSTS (to serve nearly 200 residents and staff):
Food Truck, Coffee Truck, Decorations & Supplies, Cash tips, Facebook Boost advertising.
TOTAL: $3225.03
 
We wanted to be able to self-fund and we blew it out of the park!
